The food we eat every day has a huge impact on health, a new study shows that the chemicals in the plastic packaging, packing, when exposed to food can lead to weight gain.
Dean of molecular biology at the Center for Environmental Research Helmholtz (Germany) and the University of Leipzig colleagues have shown that the chemical di- (2-ethylhexyl) -phthalate (DEHP) reviews cause hormonal imbalance in female mice and stimulate weight gain, even when exposed at low concentrations.
DEHP is a phthalate compound, or plasticizers, are added to plastics to make plastic becomes flexible, malleable and higher reliability. Besides being added to food packaging plastic, interesting science facts phthalate was present in some children’s toys, the materials used in medicine, vinyl flooring, adhesives and even in a few care products individuals such as nail polish and shampoo.
However, consumption of foods packaged in plastics containing phthalates is the way most common exposure to this chemical. Numerous studies have linked exposure to phthalates with several health problems.
In 2015, a study published in Medical News Today has shown an association between phthalates di-isononyl phthalate (DINP) and di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP) with the increased risk of hypertension.
Meanwhile, an earlier study also showed that pregnant women exposed to phthalates may increase the risk of premature birth. A previous study also mentioned the possibility of weight gain phthalate compounds, however, von Bergen and colleagues who have discovered the mechanism leading to this phenomenon… read more some amazing facts.
